In 2019, this captivating period house on Green Road, Blackrock underwent a meticulous redesign, prioritizing enhanced lighting and accessibility.
The transformation commenced with the removal of a previous extension, replaced with a brighter and more functional kitchen/dining area, contributing to a seamless blend of historical charm and contemporary utility.
The entire house received a comprehensive upgrade to meet modern insulation standards, ensuring both energy efficiency and comfort. Extensive internal work unfolded, creating additional bathrooms and expanding storage areas to meet the demands of modern living.
A 75-square-meter flat roof, adorned with strategically placed roof lights, bathes the interiors in natural daylight, accentuating the thoughtful redesign of the 270-square-meter residence. The complete overhaul included a new internal layout, preserving original features like detailed cornicing and ceiling roses.
Externally, the house was adorned with Acrylic render, while the rear received a designer garden and paving, featuring a built-in BBQ and a brick shed that harmonizes with the existing architecture.
Structural innovation was introduced as two chimneys were demolished to enlarge bedroom and living room spaces, supported by strategically placed structural steel. New sliding sash windows and doors were installed throughout, enhancing both aesthetics and functionality.
Adding a touch of timeless elegance, herringbone oak flooring graces the living and dining areas, complementing the designer kitchen and bespoke fitted units in the living and dining spaces.
